BakeFresh Privacy Policy

BakeFresh shows you when fresh bakes reach the shelves at nearby bakeries. This policy describes exactly what the app collects, why, and what it does not collect. It is written against what the app actually does.

What we collect

Data	When	Why
A random device identifier	Generated on first launch	So that when you tap Notify me on a bake, we know which device to notify. It is a random value created on your device. It is not your Apple ID, your advertising identifier, or any hardware serial number, and it is not linked to your name or email.
Which bakes you asked to be notified about	When you tap Notify me	To send that one notification. Stored against the random device identifier above.
Account identifier	Bakery staff only, at sign-in	Sign-in is handled by Clerk. We store the account identifier they give us so we know which bakery an account is allowed to post for. Customers never sign in.
Photos of bakes	Bakery staff only, when a photo is attached to a bake	To show customers what came out of the oven. These are published in the app by the bakery that uploaded them.

What we do not collect

Your location never leaves your device. The app asks for location so it can sort bakeries by how close they are and show them on a map. That calculation happens entirely on your phone. Your coordinates are never sent to our servers and never stored.

Your favourites never leave your device. They are saved in local app storage and are not sent anywhere.

We do not track you. No advertising identifiers, no analytics or advertising SDKs, no third-party trackers, and no profiling. We do not sell or share personal data, and nothing we collect is used to follow you across other apps or websites.

Who else handles your data

Convex hosts our database and file storage. Everything listed under “What we collect” is stored there.
Clerk handles sign-in for bakery staff only. If you are a customer, you never touch it.
Apple delivers push notifications, when notifications are enabled.

We use these providers to run the service. We do not give your data to anyone else.

How long we keep it

Notification requests are deleted once the notification is sent or the bake is gone. Bake photos remain for as long as the bakery keeps the bake posted. Staff account records last until the account is unlinked from the bakery.

Your choices

Decline or revoke the location permission in iOS Settings. The app still works; bakeries simply are not sorted by distance.
Turn off notifications in iOS Settings at any time.
Delete the app. The random device identifier and your favourites are stored on the device and go with it.
Ask us to delete anything held server-side, using the contact address below.

Children

BakeFresh is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.

Changes

If this policy changes we will update the date at the top of this page.
